Some time a go I entered a competition off the back of a four-pack of beers to win tickets to the Champions League final. And I won!
Not the tickets to the football match, unfortunately, but this crappy green bag, which arrived via courier this morning. It really is a piece of shit. Sorry to be ungrateful but there you have it.
...as predicted.
Given my expertise in predicting the outcome of the Champions League so far, I feel confident in saying Liverpool will surely secure their sixth European cup win in Athens later this month.
I managed to catch the second half and the penalties. Slightly surreal to watch it in the US, alongside a fat American who (ironically, I hope) yelled "Touchdown!" when Dirk Kuyt looked to have scored a winner - which was ruled offside. I declined to explain the offside rule to him and he waddled off soon afterwards.
On this blog, about three weeks ago, I predicted Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and AC Milan would be the four semi-finalists in the Champions League.
Funnily enough, this is exactly what has happened. Now why didn't I put a bet on it?
I'm now going to predict a Liverpool-Milan final. We (Liverpool) can surely thrash the Mourinho Gobshite Allstars (Chelsea) in the semi... again.
Unfortunately I'll be in New York and unable to watch it. Poo.
