A roll of film

I've been back several days but I've only just got round to sorting through the holiday pictures. I took 240 photos, which is frankly ridiculous for a week in Greece. So I've challenged myself to pick out the top 10%, which also happens to be 24 photos - the same number as an old-fashioned roll of film. Them were the days. (And I don't mean I've selected the top 24 pics in terms of technical proficiency - the aim was to give a roughly even snapshot of the holiday, which is why some stupid ones are included).

Most of these are on the island of Kos but some were taken in the Turkish resort of Bodrum, where we spent a day after leaving the EU on a boat. Luckily they let us back in again.

We've just booked our holidays. We wanted to go somewhere:

(a) Cheap

(b) Hot

Thus, we opted for the Greek island of Kos. We shall be staying at the splendidly named Zeus Hotel in Kefalos. The website suggests it has an avid following among its various repeat visitors.

I actually got £330 off, thanks to four years' worth of points saved on my credit card (it's a bit like Air Miles, but it counts towards crap package holidays instead of city breaks to Venice). I worked out that I had to spend £33,000 in order to get that discount. Brilliant.
