What shows are you looking forward to in the new fall TV season?

When I went to the cinema the other day, I saw a trailer for Whistle Blowers, forthcoming on ITV1. I was intrigued for several reasons:

• It's a TV show being advertised at the cinema, which is an original idea
  
• It's created by Tony Marchant, who is one of those telly drama Gods
  
• It's on ITV - and yet it doesn't look shit. Amazing!

With friends, I like to use a stupid pseudonym of some sort - after all, the person who you're e-mailing knows who it is when they see "From" at the top. For work purposes, I tend to just stick to my first name, strangely enough.

What's the best text message you've ever gotten?

I received a text message earlier tonight that simply said: "Olay Regenerist." It gets no better than that.

What's the weirdest baby name you've ever heard (or considered)?

I heard Damien Hirst has a child called Cyrus, which is excellent. I also like the name Xander - not sure if it's short for Alexander or if it's a proper name in it's own right.

What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Ben & Jerry's Phish Food. Without doubt this is one of the most amazing food products ever created.

Which band or artist which is no longer performing or alive would you have loved to have seen?

What a dull and pathetic question. (Just kidding.)

The Smiths (no longer performing) and Joy Division (Ian Curtis no longer alive) would have to be top of the list. I've seen Morrissey several times live, and I also saw New Order a few years ago, and they are both excellent. I suppose that's as close as it's ever going to get.
